Choquequirao trek

Choquequirao Trek, 5 day

This 5 day adventure Choquequirao trek  it is a perfect combination of interesting and unique landscapes in the region of Cusco. This Choquequirao trip is a great hiking trail to challenge yourself into this amazing site called the sister city of Machu Picchu. The ancient Inca Citadel of Choquequirao, perched on a ledge high above the Apurimac Canyon; is not as massive as Machu Picchu. But it promises to be more fascinating and remote.

Choquequirao means “Cradle of Gold” in Quechua the language of the Incas, although this is probably not its original name, it is considered the last refuge of the Incas or just the other “Lost City of the Incas”

Choquequirao is composed of an amazing and very extensive set of farming terraces, smaller religious places and an administrative area with a total dimension of over 1750 h there are super impressive irrigation water channels set in the dramatic setting of the steep Apurimac Canyon
